A High-Level Meeting at Raj Bhavan
Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired an important review meeting at Raj Bhavan, Gandhinagar, to track the progress of two major projects – the Gandhi Ashram Redevelopment and the Dholera Special Investment Region (SIR).
The meeting was attended by the Chief Minister of Gujarat, the Home Minister, the Chief Secretary, senior advisors to the CM, and CMO secretaries, highlighting the strategic importance of these initiatives for Gujarat’s future development.
During the review, the Prime Minister assessed updates on:
Dholera SIR Progress – Development of world-class industrial infrastructure, smart city planning, and readiness to host global industries.
Connectivity Projects – Updates on the Dholera–Bhavnagar Railway Line, expressway links, and the under-construction Dholera International Airport aimed at improving logistics and passenger movement.
Industrial Growth & BEV Ecosystem – Plans for Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) manufacturing clusters, SEZ zones, and investor-friendly policies to attract global companies.
Gandhi Ashram Redevelopment – Enhancing visitor facilities while ensuring heritage conservation for international tourists and researchers.
Officials presented detailed progress reports and committed to ensuring timelines remain on track for both projects.
The review underlines the government’s focus on transforming Gujarat into a global hub for industries, investments, and tourism.
Dholera SIR is India’s largest greenfield smart city project, designed with sustainable urban planning, integrated utilities, and high-potential industrial clusters.
The project is set to generate thousands of jobs, new business opportunities, and attract global investors in EVs, electronics, renewable energy, and advanced manufacturing.
Gandhi Ashram Redevelopment will preserve India’s heritage while creating a modern, world-class facility for global visitors.
