If you play buy Aion 2 Items long enough, you'll hit the same wall almost everyone does: around 2,400 Gear Score. Progress suddenly slows to a crawl, upgrades feel tiny, and the gap to 3,000 looks impossible—especially if you're free-to-play.
The truth is, gear progression in Aion 2 isn't a smooth straight line. It's more like climbing steps: long plateaus followed by sudden jumps. In this guide, we'll break down exactly how to push past 2,400 GS and work your way toward 3,000, assuming a worst-case scenario:
No crafting
No heroic gear
No PvP gear
No dungeon carries or friends
No marketplace access
100% free-to-play
If you do have any of those advantages, your climb will be even easier.
Step 0: Your Bare Minimum Checklist
Before you even think about pushing past 2,400, make sure you have:
Rupture weapon +10 (from Crow Cave)
This weapon can carry you until you get an Enrage Chromade weapon.
Noble Belt (Gold)
Upgrading from blue to gold gives a big Gear Score boost.
Revelation Amulet (Gold)
Another easy chunk of Gear Score.
Ascension Bracelet (from story) at least +10
Class Runes at least +3 (from Monolith)
All Sealed Dungeons, MSQ, and Side Quests completed
From quests and sealed dungeons alone, you should have around 503 GS points. If you press U in-game and don't see at least that, go back and finish your world content.
This is your baseline.
Step 1: The 2,400 GS Baseline Setup
At around 2,400–2,450 GS, your gear should look like this:
Rupture weapon (from Crow Cave)
Bakarma pieces (from Drop Near Conquest)
Accessories from Crow Cave / Urugo Conquest
A mix of green and blue cards (totally normal at this stage)
Most gear enhanced to +10
Good news:
Crow Cave, Urugo, and Drop Nearer are very easy at this level—even 2,200 GS players can do them, especially supports.
Your goal here is simple:
Enhance everything to +10
Start socketing Mana Stones (weapons/armor) and Soul Stones (accessories)
Every stone adds free Gear Score
Even a single good stone can add 4–10 GS, and across your whole set, this adds up fast.
Step 2: Push to ~2,500 GS (Full Vakron Set)
From 2,400 → 2,500 GS, your main goals are:
Get the full Vakron set from Vakron Skyland Conquest (including guard)
Get Urugo / Conquest accessories
Keep everything at +10
Fill all slots with Mana Stones & Soul Stones
Start farming Shugo Festival for Dewanium Crystals
Aim for around 30 crystals from Shugo activities
Don't Skip Ascension Trial (Weekly)
Every week, do Ascension Trial on the highest difficulty you can manage (ideally Extreme):
You get tons of Superior Mana Stones and Soul Stones
Even at ~2,400 GS, many classes can clear it
This is one of the best free-to-play sources of stones in the game
At this point, you should also be able to clear Transcendence 6–7, which lets you farm blue cards. Your goal here is to move toward a full blue card setup:
Grail
Parchment
Compass
Bale
Mirror
Step 3: Craft Your First Gold Card (~2,600 GS)
Once you're around 2,550–2,600 GS, it's time for a huge jump:
Craft one Gold Grail of Vigor (or the stat you need)
You'll need:
5 Mysterious Crystals
~2 million Kina
You can get Mysterious Crystals from:
Seasonal rewards (Ascension Trial, Tower of Trials, etc.)
Season shop (for currency)
Card extraction over time
Just one gold card can give you ~20–50 Gear Score depending on your setup. This is one of the biggest single upgrades in the entire progression path.
Your card setup now:
1 Gold Grail
4 Blue Cards
Step 4: Fire Temple & Enrage Chromade Gear (~2,700 GS)
At around 2,700 GS, new doors open:
Start farming Fire Temple Conquest
Get Enrage Chromade accessories
Farm for your Chromade weapon (or buy with PvE currency)
Keep upgrading:
Weapon to +15
Guard to +15
Armor to +10+
Accessories to +11–12+
Don't Forget Nightmares
From Nightmares, you get fragments that can be exchanged for Aerials (PvE crystals). These also add free Gear Score.
Getting around 20 GS just from these is very realistic.
Step 5: Horn, Enhancing, and Pushing 2,800+
From 2,700 → 2,850 GS, your focus is:
Farm Horn for better pieces
Keep:
Full Vakron/Horn set
Enrage Chromade accessories
1 Gold + 4 Blue cards
Upgrade smarter:
Weapon: +15 or +16
Guard: +15
Accessories: push to +15+
Armor: +10 to +12
Important Enhancement Tip
When you go from +15 to +16 (Amplified):
The Kina cost resets
You get +5 Gear Score per level instead of +1
This makes +16, +17 on accessories extremely efficient for GS gains.
Also:
Revelation Amulet is worth enhancing (offensive stats)
Belt is low priority (mostly defensive stats)
Step 6: Transcendence 9–10 and Full Gold Cards (~2,850–2,950 GS)
At around 2,800+ GS, you should start doing:
Transcendence 7 → 8 → 9
Transcendence 9 drops Gold Cards
Your new goal:
Replace all blue cards with gold cards
Enhance those cards (this takes time and many runs)
Just switching from blue to gold cards gives a massive Gear Score boost—often close to 100 GS total across your setup.
From ~2,850 to ~2,950, your gear barely changes—most of your gains now come from:
Better cards
Better enhancements
Better stones (rolling higher gold stats on Mana/Soul Stones)
Step 7: Fine-Tuning to Reach ~3,000 GS
From ~2,950 → 3,000 GS, it's all about optimization:
Upgrade more pieces to +12–15+
Push accessories to +16 / +17
Reroll Mana Stones & Soul Stones for better gold stats
Finish gold card setup and enhancements
Get more PvE crystals (Aerials, Shugo, etc.)
At this point:
You can do Transcendence 10
You can farm Zakiel
You can run Sanctuary
Party content becomes much easier to join, especially if you're a support
Final Push: The Abyssal Bracelet
Once you can do Ludra, grab the Gold Abyssal Bracelet to replace the old Pilgrim one you've been using forever.
Just this one swap can give you ~30 Gear Score.
And that's it.
You're now around 3,000 GS. Welcome to the club—and welcome to Season 2 content, where ~2,800–3,000 GS is the new normal.
The Big Takeaway
Aion 2 Items progression isn't smooth. It's step-based:
You get stuck at 2,400
Then jump to 2,500
Then 2,600
Then 2,700
Then suddenly 2,850–2,950
And finally 3,000
It's slow, it's grindy—but it's absolutely doable even as free-to-play if you follow the steps in the right order.
