Launch of the LL.M. Programme
On December 9, 2024, VMLS unveiled its much-anticipated LL.M. programme, further expanding its academic offerings. The official inauguration ceremony took place on March 8, 2025, at the Paiyanoor campus. This new program is designed to cater to the evolving needs of legal academia, preparing graduates for leadership roles in law, governance, and policy.
Celebrating Constitutional Values
In honor of the 75th National Constitution Day on November 9, 2024, VMLS organized a landmark event on the theme “Constitutionalism and Access to Justice: A New Blueprint for Legal Education.” The event underlined VMLS's vision to nurture socially responsible legal professionals who are equipped to advance constitutional values and justice delivery systems.
Bridging Global Legal Perspectives
One of the most notable achievements in early 2025 was the Student Immersion Program held from February 6 to 24, where 33 VMLS students spent two enriching weeks at Jindal Global Law School. This program provided hands-on exposure to global legal systems and interdisciplinary research.
In another milestone, VMLS hosted Mr. Bhagwan Shankar, retired IAS officer, for a lecture on February 25, 2025, highlighting the intersection of governance and legal education.
Expanding Social Impact through Legal Aid
In a display of community engagement, the VMLS Legal Aid Team conducted an outreach program on February 17, 2025, in Vittilapuram Village, Chengalpattu District. This initiative reflects the school's ethos of nurturing empathetic, service-oriented legal professionals.
