In my case, volleyball used to be more of moving, timing and simply having fun playing the game as opposed to worrying much about equipment.

However, in a couple weeks of regular playing, more so on a more challenging playing surface, I was beginning to feel it in my knees. Nothing very dramatic early on, just some soreness upon dives or rapid slides. I did not pay much attention to it because it seemed to be normal.
