The Fear of God brand was established in 2013 by Jerry Lorenzo, a Los Angeles-based designer who sought to merge his spiritual beliefs with his passion for fashion. His design ethos was rooted in the idea of timelessness—creating garments that would last stylistically and structurally. While the main Fear of God line featured high-end, luxury pieces often retailing at premium prices, Lorenzo noticed a gap in the market for everyday staples that retained the spirit of the main line but were more affordable. This gave birth to Fear of God Essentials in 2018.
